Contract Administration & Project Monitoring

JP Bedfords were appointed to manage the demolition and rebuild of a modern, 4 bedroom detached dwelling following a catastrophic fire incident.

Following consultation with Structural Engineers and Local Authority Building Control Surveyors, it was concluded that the whole property had been severely affected by the fire and required demolishing down to ground level and rebuilding.

As part of the planning process, our clients took the opportunity to redesign the layout of the property and added an additional bedroom whilst also incorporating a large open-plan extension to the rear of the property.

Detailed plans and specifications were drawn up resulting in full planning and building regulation approval being obtained.

The main challenge on this project was retaining and rebuilding off the original raft foundation. This required lengthy & complex investigations by the Structural Engineers to determine the adequacy of the existing foundations.
