JP Bedfords were appointed as Project Managers and Principal Designer to oversee the reinstatement of a fire-damaged thatched cottage.

We were responsible for the repair process, preparing the repair specification, competitively tendering the project, and managing all aspects of contract administration post tender. The roof structure had been completely destroyed, and the client chose to replace the thatch with slate to reduce the risk of future fires.

In addition to managing the rebuild, JP Bedfords prepared and submitted the planning application to reinstate the property with the revised roofing materials. The reinstatement works progressed smoothly and were successfully completed on time and within budget, restoring the property with careful attention to quality, detail, and long-term durability.
